L. Hector expressed concern in regards to uncovered wells and
cisterns. There is one in her neighborhood that the cover can be
easily removed and is a danger to children. She also had
questions about a crushed tile as she has drainage problems in
her basement.
M. Tirpak supports community problem with nuisance ordinance but
feels the Board is wrong in the way they are proceeding.
J. Dobson asks about the $2.95 fee to Veolia for paperwork fee.
There will be no fee if the bill is paid via the internet. The
attorney has been contacted about this already. There is also a
water situation at the corner of Crea and Von Dongen in regards
to slow drainage.
C. Martin-drainage slow, whistles plugged up
R. West-3 topics, first, the Fathill Fest would like to block
off streets for the upcoming celebration. He will get with Rob
and let him know which streets he will need closed. Second, he
and several residents are having a problem with Mediacom coming
to bury cables. Some have lain in yards for over a year. This
time of year, they get cut by lawnmowers, hedge clippers, etc.
Third, the fire department was out for 19 hours recently for the
storms.
J. Hyde-ord. violations problems. Asking for help not pressure
P. Hyde-ord. violations. Town is guilty also-Santa house and new
trailer.
K. Helm-Ordinance in detail. They have a large boat and it will
be there for while as it needs to be painted. Realizes laws are
for everybody. Also has a water problem. Ditch along railroad is
partially filled in.
L.Primmer-has tractors at this house. He uses them as income and
also enjoys working and restoring antique tractors
D.Seitz-he is getting an antique tractor. Wants to know if the
ordinance means he can’t park it in his driveway for now.
G.Timmerman-seems the Board is trying to deprive everyone of
everything they enjoy.
Minutes were read and there were no corrections. They will stand
approved.
CLAIMS REPORT
No IP bill as yet but would like permission to pay when it comes
in. Motion to approve claims report and pay IP bill made by
Trustee Williams, second Songer, all yeas.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Shut off list is smaller this time. The biggest offender finally
got his leak fixed. New program is going well. A general fund CD
matures in July and we will have 10 days to re-invest. The
finance committee will discuss this. We have acquired a bulk
mailing permit for the monthly newsletters. They will be a
single page and have been mailing 500, could easily go to 650 or
670. Motion to approve treasure's report made by Trustee Huff,
second Songer, all yeas.
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS REPORT
There were some problems at the water tower due to the storm.
Lightning took out the transmitter for the power supply. It has
been repaired but there is a problem with the radio
communication. The radios are obsolete also. Some one is coming
out Thursday, 19th, to check them out. There are 5 radios. The
biggest problem at well #9 could be the antennae. They were put
in 13 years ago. The transducer at the sewer plant quit on
Friday. It will cost $500 to replace it and have it calibrated.
The new truck will be in Thursday and Rob will take it in to
have the radio installed and mud flaps put on. The school would
like to buy the old orange truck and it may be time to get rid
of old blue. It has no resale value left in it. After a comment
from the audience concerning the fate of the orange truck, the
Board will check into the legalities of selling it without
taking bids for it.
CHIEF OF POLICE REPORT
Pat past out reports from Cisco-only reported 19 hours. Profit
margin down as price of gas and labor is up. The Cerro Gordo
report also was pasted out. There were 97 calls for the month.
Officer Mudd picked up a new piece of equipment from Tuscon, Az.
and received training while there for it. There was no cost to
the Village as all this was accomplished with a federal grant.
The piece of equipment is a concealment finder. It is able to
show void areas in a vehicle or building.
NEW BUSINESS
J. Baker is seeking a donation to CUIC (Christians Uniting In
Christ). They are sponsoring a Christian band at the fair
grounds on June 20th. Motion to approve donation of $200 made by
Trustee Songer, second Huff, all yeas.
Rick Anklan is asking for a variance for the fair. Currently the
fair is zoned residential and needs a different zoning or a
special use permit.
A zoning hearing was held on June 11 at the property of Dennis
Ridgeway on Jackson Street and the former Price Service Station.
The Zoning Board recommends changing the zoning from residential
to commercial for both properties. Motion to follow the zoning
boards' recommendation made by Trustee Williams, second Songer,
all yeas.
OLD BUSINESS
Golf Cart Ord.-Colette was not able to bring a sample ordinance
to the meeting as she is in the hospital and was not able to
attend the meeting. There will be a special meeting on June 30th
at 7:00 P.M. to discuss this ordinance.
TRUSTEES REPORT
Trustee Williams- Rob and Mark did a good job with the drainage
in light of all the rain the Village has received. Met with Dave
Happ and will try to get a head start on some of these drainage
problems.
Trustee Price states we need to work with the drainage district
on this also.
Trustee Songer also expressed a good job on drainage. He also
had some question about a police officer's approach towards
people concerning the nuisance issues. Also, some one asked him
about the possibility of bumping up the speed limit on Oakley
road by 5 miles.
Fathill can always use some help with the upcoming festival. If
possible volunteer your time. Someone asked why the park is
closing at 10:00. This was done because of past vandalism. No
further business to discuss and a motion to adjourn was entered
at 8:30 by Trustee Price, second Songer, all yeas.
