JULY 14, 2008
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
VILLAGE OF CERRO GORDO
A special meeting was called for July 14, 2008 with the
following members present: President Jim Morgan,
Trustees Brad Williams, Lyle Shoraga, Terry Lovekamp,
Carol Huff, and Mike Songer. Trustee Price was absent.
Also present was Clerk Linda Ash.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Board
members took a tour of the town and returned to the
municipal building for further discussion. Checked dome
places and will turn over their findings to Chief Carter
to deal with.
Looking into special use for the fair. This will be
discussed at the next regular meeting. All issues under
old business are attorney issues.
All permits are being sent to Casey's with no guarantee
to build but the Village is moving in the right
direction.
TRUSTEES REPORT
Trustee Shoraga-fielded several questions about the
Veolia fee.
Trustee Songer-need to nip this nuisance debacle in the
bud and move on to other issues such as water mains,
safety issues-such as Vulgamott building.
The mayor has received a notice from the State Fair
about officials' day. All elected officials are eligible
to attend. Ordinance committee needs to meet with
Colette about the antique tractor issues.
Trustee Williams has the golf cart license emblem. The
permits are ready to go.
Trustee Lovekamp would like to see a communication
committee. The newsletter is a good source of
information and maybe put an ordinance in the newsletter
each month. This can be discussed at the July 21st
meeting.
Fire Chief Randy West stated their attorney is drafting
a letter for the building across the road. Also, he has
a FEMA document from the state. The Village has no
emergency plan in place and as a result, in case of a
catastrophe, the Village could loose out on Federal
funding. The Village could adopt the state plan and
simply need a document stating so. This will be on the
July 21 agenda.
No further business to discuss and the meeting adjourned
at 8:13 P.M.
