Special meeting
July 27, 2009
The Mayor and the Board of Trustees met at 7:00 pm on
July 27, 2009 for a special meeting. The purpose of the
meeting was to accept the resignation of Trustee Songer,
appoint a new trustee, discuss the animal control
vehicle, and a closed session 120/2 C-1 for personnel.
The following members were present: Mayor Lyle Shoraga,
Trustees Brad Williams, Dennis Ridgeway, Mick Tirpak,
Ron Price, Attorney Colette McCarty, and Clerk Linda
Ash.
The meeting was called to order. The Board accepts the
letter of resignation from Trustee Mike Songer. A motion
was made by Trustee Williams to regretfully accept the
resignation of Mike Songer, second Dennis, all yeas. At
this time the Mayor would like to appoint Jim Morgan as
trustee. He will replace Mike on two committees. Trustee
Williams made a motion to appoint Jim Morgan as Trustee.
There was no second on the motion and the matter will be
tabled.
The animal control vehicle needs more discussion. The
finance chairman is opposed to the purchase. Trustee
Williams suggest the Village continue to reimburse Jim
Mudd for use of his vehicle. There is no justification
in the budget to purchase vehicle. A motion was entered
to disapprove the purchase of an animal control vehicle
by Trustee Ridgeway, second Tirpak. Roll call: Trustee
Williams, Ridgeway, Tirpak, and Price, all yeas.
A motion was entered by Trustee Price, Tirpak to end
regular session and move to closed session for the 120/2
C-1 for personnel at 7:11 pm., all yeas.
Regular session resumes at 9:26 pm. Trustee Williams
would like a clarification of what can be on boulevard,
such as parking, rock material. Some areas in town need
to be cleaned up such as village and township
properties.
Trustee Tirpak has been approached by two people that
would like to have an alley vacated.
Motion to adjourn at 9:34 pm., made by Trustee Williams,
second Tirpak, all yeas.
