LIEN ORDINANCE #374

Be it resolved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Cerro Gordo:

1. That if any weeds, grass or underbrush has grown to a height of one foot or more, the Village of Cerro Gordo shall give a 5 day notice to the occupant in writing to cut same.  Said 5 day notice shall be given personally or by 1st class mail, postage prepaid, addressed to “Occupant” with the street address of the property listed thereon and by posting the premises.

2. That in the event the weeds, grass or underbrush have not been cut within 7 days after said notice is personally delivered or mailed and posted in case of an occupant or posting only if no occupant, then the Village of Cerro Gordo shall have authority to cut same and shall be entitled to a lien for the sum of $25.00 for each half hour or portion thereof of work and said lien shall be perfected by the Village Clerk filing a notice of said lien with the Recorder of Deeds of the County where the property is located.  Said lien shall list the amount of lien, the street address of the property and if known, the owner and legal description of the property.
