VILLAGE OF CERRO GORDO

ORDINANCE NO. 451

 

AMENDMENT TO PARKING ORDINANCE

 

 

            An ordinance to prohibit parking in designated area on Madison street on the block between South street and Wait Street to allow semi trailers ingress and egress from the alley.

 

            BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF CERRO GORDO, ILLINOIS:

 

            1.  “Chapter 8.  Public Safety, Article 2.  Traffic and Parking, Section 8.204” of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Cerro Gordo, Piatt County, Illinois passed and approved on August 7, 1995, shall be amended and shall hereinafter state as follows:

 

            8.204 Parking.  It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle to violate the      following parking provisions on Village streets and parking lots:

 

                        1.  Parking near corner.   Whenever a sign shall be present or curbing is so                    painted to prohibit parking, no person shall park within fifteen feet (15’)                             of any corner.

 

                        2.  Designated Parking Places.  The parking of motor vehicles on South                                     Street between Jefferson Street on the West and Jackson Street on the                                    East, on both the North and the South side of said South Street shall be                                     parallel with street curb on the right hand side according to the direction                              the vehicle is headed with the right wheels not more than twelve inches                           (12”) from the said curb.

 

                            On Madison Street, parking shall be in the center of the street, on the                                    block between South Street and Wait Street except there shall be no                          parking in the center of Madison Street on the block between South Street                                     and Wait Street in the area located 20 feet (20’) on each side of the center                           of the alley.

 

 

            2.  Should any article, section, provision, part or clause of this ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any part thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid.

 

            3.  Any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

 

            4.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and due publication as provided by law.

 

            5.   The Village Clerk is instructed to insert this Ordinance Number 451 in its designated place in the copy of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Cerro Gordo, Piatt County, Illinois, kept on file in the Office of the Village Clerk to reflect the intention of the President and Board of Trustees to make this Ordinance Number 451 a part of said Code.

 

            6.  The Village Clerk shall certify to the passage and approval of this ordinance and shall cause it to be printed in pamphlet form and published by the authority of the president and board of trustees of the Village of Cerro Gordo, Illinois.
