ORDINANCE NO. 476
SEWER RATE ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cerro Gordo has determined that the current charges and rates for use of the Village’s sewer and wastewater facilities is insufficient to cover the cost of expense for routine repair and maintenance of the system and insufficient to develop a reserve fund for future foreseen and unforeseen improvements which may be necessary.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD

7.203 Basic User Rate. There shall be
and there is hereby established a minimum charge and a basic user rate for the
use of and for service supplied by the wastewater facilities of the
A minimum charge of $5.30 per month shall be applied to all users whose water consumption does not exceed 1,000 gallons per month.
A basic user rate of $.033 per 10 gallons shall be applied to all users for water consumption in excess of 1,000 gallons of water per month.
All non-metered residential users of the wastewater facilities shall pay a minimum flat rate charge per month adequate to cover the minimum service charge and the basic user rate of $5.30 per 1,000 gallons.
The flat rate charge for non-metered residential users shall be computed by the Director of Public Works as follows:
A. Determine the per capita residential
usage for the previous year for the
B. Determine the number of persons to occupy the residence.
C. Multiply the number of persons times the per capita residential usage.
D. Divide the usage obtained in Article I, Section 7.203 by 12 and apply the minimum charge of $5.30 for the first 1,000 gallons. The basic user rate of $.033 per 10 gallons shall be applied for water consumption in excess of 1,000 gallons per month.
E. The flat rate monthly charge for non-metered residential users shall be the sum of the minimum charge and the charge for water consumption in excess of 10 gallons per month.
F. In the event use of the wastewater facilities is determined by the Director of Public Works to be in excess of 10,000 gallons per month, the Director of Public Works may require such flat rate user to install metering devices on the water supply or sewer main to measure the amount of service supplied.
2. Except as modified above, the remaining provisions of Chapter 7, Article 2 Section 7.203 shall remain in full force and effect as originally passed.
3. Any other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
5. The Village Clerk is instructed to insert this Ordinance Number 476 in its designated place in the copy of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Cerro Gordo, Piatt County, Illinois, kept on file in the Office of the Village Clerk to reflect the intention of the President and Board of Trustees to make this Ordinance Number 476 a part of said Code.
This ordinance was adopted this 16th day of June, 2003 by a Motion duly made and seconded and voted upon as follows:
