VILLAGE OF CERRO GORDO

ORDINANCE NO. 483

 

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THE BRADLEY PROPERTY LOCATED AT 112 EAST WAIT STREET,

CERRO GORDO, ILLINOIS

 

 

            WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cerro Gordo deem it advisable and in the public interest that the Village of Cerro Gordo acquire the following described property:

 

            Lot 10 in Block 20 of the Original Town, now Village of Cerro Gordo, Piatt

            County, Illinois except the East 10 feet thereof; and

 

            WHEREAS, such property will serve the public and corporate purposes for which the municipality is organized; and

 

            WHEREAS,  the Village of Cerro Gordo is authorized by the Illinois Municipal Code and the Constitution of the State of Illinois to enter into contracts which serve the public interest; and

 

            WHEREAS, Jackie Denise Bradley, of P.O. Box 133, Cerro Gordo, Illinois 61818 (the Seller) has agreed to convey such property to the municipality for the purchase price of $650.00 and pursuant to the terms hereinafter set forth.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF CERRO GORDO, PIATT COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:

 

            Section 1:  A copy of said proposed Contract For Sale of Real Estate is attached hereto, marked “Exhibit A” and incorporated herein by reference.

 

            Section 2:  From and after the effective date of this Ordinance, the Mayor and Clerk of the municipality are hereby authorized and directed to execute the said Contract For Sale of Real Estate herein provided for and to do all things necessary and essential, including the execution of any documents and certificates, to carry out the provisions of said Contract.

 

            Section 3:  This Ordinance shall be published at least twice within thirty (30) days after its passage in the News Record, a newspaper in general circulation in the municipality, and if no petitions signed by electors equal in number to one percent (1%) or more of the total number of votes cast at the last preceding regular municipal election shall be filed with the corporate authorities of the municipality within 30 days after the second publication of this Ordinance, then this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as provided by Section 11-76.1-3 of the Illinois Municipal Code.
